Pirá Lodge is Argentina’s first luxury lodge for Golden Dorado fishing, offering unmatched access to one of the most extraordinary freshwater environments on Earth—the Iberá Marshlands. Located within a 3-million-acre ecological reserve, Pirá Lodge sits near the headwaters of the Corriente River, just 15 minutes by skiff from prime Golden Dorado habitat.
Unlike most Golden Dorado fishing lodges, Pirá Lodge operates like a saltwater flats fishery, utilizing Hell’s Bay skiffs to pole through shallow lagoons, creeks, and sand-bottom channels where sight-fishing is possible. Anglers at Pirá Lodge will target resident and migratory Dorado ranging from 5 to 20+ pounds using floating or intermediate lines, wire leaders, and an arsenal of streamers, skaters, and mouse patterns. Guests even have the option to leave their gear at home and rely on Pira Lodge’s arsenal of quality fly and spinning tackle.
Uniquely positioned and supremely comfortable, Pirá Lodge offers immediate access to the wildlife mecca of the Iberá Marshlands. With its remote setting, top-tier guides, and refined accommodations, this is the ultimate Golden Dorado destination for anglers seeking wild beauty, world-class fishing, and elevated service—all in one seamless package.
Built in the elegant Corrientes style and designed by award‑winning architects, Pirá Lodge offers panoramic views across the pristine Ibera wetlands. The lodge accommodates up to 10 guests in seven deluxe rooms, each with a private entrance, ensuite bathroom, two double beds, air conditioning, and ceiling fans.
A separate main building, connected via covered walkways and open‑air patios, houses the spacious living room, bar, and dining area—which open onto broad verandas overlooking the thriving marsh. Relax or socialize by the saltwater swimming pool, or simply unwind on one of the hammocks as day fades.
Pirá lodge places tremendous importance on cuisine. Top trained chefs prepare every meal using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients—prime regional meats, crisp vegetables, homemade breads—paired with a selection of fine award-winning Argentine wines from Bodega Catena Zapata. Returning guests look forward to the weekly traditional asado and possibly evening dining alfresco overlooking tranquil marsh waters.
At Pirá Lodge, anglers access the vast, untamed ecosystem of the Iberá Marshlands—a 3-million-acre reserve comparable in size to Yellowstone National Park. The lodge sits at the headwaters of the Corriente River, the main drainage of the marsh. Together, they form one of the most biologically rich Golden Dorado fisheries in Argentina—and the world. From actual flats boats, anglers target Dorado with fly or light tackle in both systems.
The fishery divides into two distinct zones: the lush, ever-shifting marsh and the clear-flowing Corriente River. In the marsh, anglers pole silently through crystal-clear creeks, grass-lined channels, sandy shallows, and structure-rich lagoons aboard Hell’s Bay skiffs. Floating grass islands shift constantly, and big Dorado push into this skinny-water maze to feed. Most casting is done from the bow, but exceptional wading opportunities are found throughout.
The Corriente River offers a striking contrast, with deeper pools, clean banks, and moderate currents. Anglers strip streamers, skaters, or mouse patterns from boats or banks, often using floating or intermediate lines. Sight fishing is possible throughout both systems, and every explosive take or leap from a Golden Dorado delivers heart-pounding excitement.
Dorado here average 6–7 lbs, with weekly double-digit fish. In 2025, the largest fish weighed 27.5 lbs. A wide variety of flies—mouse patterns, baitfish streamers, and saltwater-style deceivers—are used to entice these predators.
This vibrant, wildlife-rich ecosystem remains one of the most productive and visually stunning Dorado environments in all of Argentina.
