If you are lucky enough to have an upcoming trip to Argentina, please note that Argentina has updated their requirements for all non-resident travelers.
Visitors are now required to carry valid medical insurance to cover them for the duration of their stay.
Our travel coordinators in Buenos Aires confirmed that this is NOT compulsory nor widely enforced. In fact, as of Jan 16, 2026, NO instances of enforcement have been reported. However, you may be asked to present proof of medical insurance during your travels along with your valid passport.
IMPORTANT -We also understand that if you do happen to need medical services at a public hospital or clinic, you will not receive attention unless you pay for services or show that your insurance will cover costs.
Global Rescue is one of many companies with options for comprehensive travel insurance and minimal policies that just meet these requirements. A policy to only meet this new requirement will cost $40-$120 person. Although we always recommend a comprehensive policy, Here is how to get coverage that only meets this new requirement….
– Complete the GLOBAL RESCUE FORM and enter $500 as your total trip cost.
– Once you purchased the medical coverage policy, click HERE to download to obtain a letter of proof of coverage to present to authorities if needed.
