The river is in excellent condition – low and clear water and dropping a little every day Water temperature between 45° F and 62° F. Air temperature between 42° F and 79° F. Wind went up to 50 mph last week.
Lines: Skagit shooting heads with T-14 and T-17 (5´, 10´, 12´ and 15´). Scandi lines and poly-leaders or versi-leaders worked very well when we want to fish close to the surface. Monofilament or fluorocarbon 0X to 03X diameter tippets.
Flies: Nymphs were the flies of the week. Red tail, Prince Nymph, EMB, TDF Prince, Aurelia Prince and some chartreuse nymphs were the best. Also black and olive wooly buggers, Bitch Creek, Yuk Bug. For the last hour of the day big leeches, intruders or tube flies. Titanic and sunray shadows to fish on the surface took some fish as well.
